Crown of Thorns

I have kissed death
fallen from heaven's
powder blue skies.

I am a drop of crimson
blood falling from a crown
of piercing thorns.

I fall from a graceful face
and stain the crisp green earth.

Ever overdosed on pain
so raw you almost died?

Did you surrender to it?
Did you cry?

Inside his cruel experiment,
it was all just a blink of an eye.

Along this poison earth we wander aimlessly.
